Properties and Applications of Sulfur
Sulfur, also known as sulfur, colloidal sulfur or sulfur blocks, is light yellow brittle crystal or powder, with a special odor. Its molecular weight is 32.06, the steam pressure is 0.13kPa, the flash point is 207℃, the melting point is 119℃, the boiling point is 444.6℃, and the density is relatively large. Sulfur is insoluble in water, but slightly soluble in ethanol and ether, and as a flammable solid, it is widely used in the manufacture of dyes, pesticides, matches, gunpowder, rubber and rayon.

In addition, sulfur is an important component of inorganic pesticides. Its commercial form is yellow solid or powder, with obvious odor, easy to volatilize. Sulfur water suspension is slightly acidic and insoluble in water, but can react with alkali to form polysulfide. When burned, sulfur emits a cyan flame and produces sulfur dioxide gas. In production, sulfur is often processed into colloidal suspension for the prevention and control of pests and diseases, and is safe for people and livestock, and is not easy to cause drug damage to crops.
