The importance of electric motors to machinery

The motor, referred to as the motor, is a production machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to achieve various uses. It is the main core of a machine and the equipment that drives the operation of the whole machine. An electric motor is based on the principle that an energized conductor is stressed in a magnetic field. It is mainly composed of two parts, a coil that can rotate and a magnet that is fixed. In the motor, the part that can rotate is called the rotor, and the fixed part is called the stator, which is the principle that the energized coil is forced to rotate in the magnetic field.

Motor is a mechanical equipment, in the process of operation due to friction, vibration, insulation aging and other reasons, failure is inevitable. If these faults are checked, found and eliminated in time, it can effectively prevent the occurrence of accidents.


Causes of common faults

1. The motor has no starting torque, or can not start when unloaded, and emits abnormal sound.
The reason:
(1) Three-phase power supply circuit (including knife switch, lead stator winding) has a phase off, resulting in single-phase start.
(2) The power supply voltage is too low.
(3) Excessive wear of the bearing makes the rotor close to one side of the stator, resulting in different hearts of the stator and the rotor and uneven air gap.

2. Motor starting torque is small, can not start when loaded, load increases when the motor stops, sometimes emit strong noise, local heating.
Cause: low voltage of the power grid, short circuit between turns in the winding, broken line or welding phenomenon in the rotor winding, and single-phase operation caused by a phase broken line after starting.

3. The starting current is large, and unbalanced, and the sound is loud, causing the protection device to act and cut off the power supply.
Cause: The wiring method of the stator winding may be incorrect, and the winding insulation to the ground is aging.

If the motor is damaged, it is equal to a mechanical operation, which is equal to the backbone of a device. Take good care of your motor to keep it running.
