Its chemical formula is C6H11NaO7 and its molecular weight is 218.14. As a polyhydroxy carboxylic acid salt, sodium gluconate has excellent chelating ability, which can form stable complexes with metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, thereby effectively inhibiting the precipitation and scaling of metal ions. In addition, sodium gluconate also has good corrosion inhibition properties, which can form a protective film on the metal surface, delaying the corrosion process.
