High shear mixer granulator is a kind of granulation equipment commonly used in pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other industries. The principle of granulation is to grind, impact and shear the material through a high-speed rotating blade to split the material into smaller particles, so as to realize granulation.

 

Working Principle:

A high shear mixer granulator operates on the principle of mechanical agitation and shear force application to convert dry powder blends into uniform and dense granules.

The process involves four main steps: wetting, granulation, drying, and sizing.

Dry powder ingredients are first loaded into the mixing bowl of the granulator.

A binder solution or granulating liquid is then sprayed onto the powder blend while it is being mixed and agitated.

High-speed impeller blades and chopper blades inside the mixing bowl create intense agitation and shear forces, ensuring uniform wetting and distribution of the liquid binder throughout the powder blend.

The wet mass undergoes granulation as the particles adhere to each other, forming granules of the desired size and density.

Subsequently, the granules are dried using hot air supplied through the mixing bowl's jacket or by a separate drying unit.

Finally, the dried granules may undergo sizing or screening to achieve the desired particle size distribution.

Operation process:

 

1. Preparations: Check whether the components of the device are normal, and put in appropriate materials.
2. Start the equipment: start the motor to drive the blade to rotate.
3. Adjust parameters: According to the nature of the material and the required granularity, adjust the blade rotation speed, screen selection and feed speed and other parameters.
4. Start granulation: Slowly and continuously put the material into the feed port, and the material gradually forms small particles under the action of the high-speed rotating blade and the screen.
5. Receiving the finished product: After the particle size meets the requirements, the finished product is collected through the discharge port.
